Candy Covers the Cake

Candy Covers the Cake 


  • 8 cups Favorite chocolate cake recipe or mix
  • 3 1/2 cups Chocolate Decorator Icing
  • chocolate bars
  • soft-center chocolate caramels
  • mini peanut butter cups
  • Malted milk balls
  • candy-coated peanut butter chocolate drops (orange, yellow and brown used)


Step 1

Make layered cake.
Bake and cool two 8 in. cake layers.

Step 2

Assemble and ice cake.
Fill and stack layers on cake board, for a 2-layer cake, 4 in. high. Use spatula and chocolate icing to ice cake smooth.

Step 3

Position candies.
Break chocolate bars into 12 sections 1 1/3 in. x 3/4 in. wide. Position around bottom of cake. Position candy-coated peanut butter chocolate drops in garland formation on cake side. Position remaining candy on cake top.
